myLot Discussions on Nike Women's Headband| Nike Women's Marathon Early Registration is Open! | | If any of you want to participate in the Nike Women's Marathon in October, registration is now open. It's super slow but I just finally got my registration in. It's October 21 in San Francisco, Union Square. I did the full last year but only signed up for the half this year. I can't wait. Your finishers medal is a Tiffany necklace!! It's a hard race but definitely worth it with some absolutely beautiful views! | |
| | fit flops - are they really healthy? | | I've seen Fit Flops only in Shoe Salon here in the Philippines and they're pretty expensive. A pair of platform fit flops are more expensive than my Nike women walking shoes - which is very stylish. Fit Flops don't look very pretty but when I tried them on, my feet fell in love.I'm thinking about saving up for a pair but I don't know if it's really worth it. | |
| | At Women's Marathon, fastest time didn't win... KNOW WHY! | | I have just read the article which surprised me the most...There were over 20,000 competitors in Sunday's Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco. And 24-year-old Arien O'Connell, a fifth-grade teacher from New York City, ran the fastest time of any of the women. But she didn't win simply because SHE DID NOT DECLARE HERSELF AS PART OF THE "ELITE" GROUP... while she simply doesn't consider herself to be one. I am a distance runner as well and I do not see the point especially knowing that she had run the best time whether or not she is part of the so-called ELITE runners whom given 20 minutes earlier head start... (which she manages to beat still) she still won the race in any angle you try to look at it.What do you think? Pls share some thoughts and let us make Arien O'Connell feel that she is the REAL WINNER! God bless us all | |
| | San Francisco place to stay for October 20-23, 2007 | | My teammates and I are looking for accommodations in San Francisco, preferrably near Union Square, for October 20-23, 2007. We are participating in the Nike Women's Marathon that weekend and would like some cheap suggestions. We need room for at least 6 of us. A condo or vacation rental would be great since we'd love a kitchen in the place. Let me know what you have or if you know a great place to look. Thanks! | |
| | Anyone else a part of this group? | | I trained and participated in my first team in training event last October, Nike Women's Marathon. In case you don't know they are a group raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and they train you for various events. They do marathons, cylcing and triathlons. I am now currently training for the Rock N Roll marathon in San Diego and plan on participating in many more events with them. It is such a great cause and getting in shape for such a phenomenal event is amazing! If you haven't done any sort of event like this, I would highly recommend Team in Training. Message me and I can give you more information!! Or if you want to donate to a worthy cause, let me know that as well, I could use all the help I can get on fundraising. Thanks! | |
